The new deal reaffirms Countrywide Signs' commitment to addressing environmental issues sustainably and responsibly
Countrywide Signs has announced a new partnership to ensure the environmentally safe and responsible recycling of its franchise network’s old estate agency boards.
The deal with EA Recycling replaces the company’s previous partnership, after growth meant a nationwide provider of recycling services was required to properly accommodate the disposal needs of Countrywide Signs’ network of franchisees.
EA Recycling state that over 3m tonnes of plastic waste are produced in the UK annually, with over 80% ending up in landfill sites. Traditional estate agency signs can take up to 500 years to degrade, so the company created a new system to maximise recycling of For Sale and To Let boards, while safely disposing of non-recyclable materials in accordance with legally required procedures.
Martin Attwood QFP, director of Countrywide Signs, said: “As a nationwide business we take our environmental responsibilities very seriously. For us, it’s about much more than simply keeping up with legislative requirements. The impact of plastics on our environment is a global concern and we’re passionate about the role we can help play in minimising it.
“We’ve always been focused on delivering great service to our clients and operating with complete integrity with our franchisees, and our approach to recycling is no different.
“EA Recycling have proved their understanding of our needs as a network and have the capacity to cope with the vastly increased demand we’re experiencing this year. With national account jobs alone up by thousands in 2017, it was imperative that our ability to recycle products maintained the same pace.
“We look forward to a strong partnership with EA Recycling.”
